Scene 6 Setup
INT. BFM Museum Hall. Day (5 PM)
Intended:
Meeting the Mr A.B.
Chaos Rank: 4
(Scene 5 was not exactly the most exciting)
Does it go as intended?:
(a D10 gave an 10, higher than the Chaos Rank) Yes.
Setup Questions:
I was to ask “Do we get any trouble?”, but that would be a major variation of the scene, which the standard “Does it goes as intended?” question has it covered.
Q: Is Mr A.B. going to tell us about what’s going on? [V. Likely] I say V.Likely because I feel that is what the story needs right now. Maybe it’s a mistake, but this is a game, after all. (a D100 got a 1, which means a critical result, i.e. an excepcional yes.
Q: So, what’s this all about? (For questions that aren’t yes or no, you roll on the event table, and then interpret everything according to what you alread know) I get Move Away from a Thread. Carry. Hope.
Hmm… the only thread still open is “Finding out the reason of the attack.” So he is still not telling us about the reason of his personal attack. Grrr. But that “Carry Hope” sounds like Utopian Party to me.
Q: Is Mr A.B. a member of the Utopian Party? [50/50] Critical No.
Q: Is Mr A.B. against the Utopian Party? [V. Likely] Yes.
So still more questions to make…
Q: Is Mr A.B. giving us a mission? [V. Likely, else no point in this “spy” meeting] No.
Bad dice, bad dice…
Q: Is Mr A.B. offering us a job? [50/50] Yes.
-> At this point I rolled a double, which means I have another event to check (so much for another easy scene). I get “Remote Event. Judge Dreams”. So there’s a remote scene that I’m labelling Scene 6A. I will deal later with it.
Q: Kind of job? [Even table again] PC Positive. Work Hard. Liberty.
Q: Does he want to recruit us for some Government secret service? [50/50] (I just entered into “Dice, please…” mode) Yes! :)
Q: Do we continue in our ordinaries lives as newsies as a cover up? [50/50] No. (This is starting to look like “Spy Kids: New Atlantis”.
Now, the Setup for Scene 6A
Scene 6A is a remote event, which means it’s happening elsewhere, so the heroes would not be around. “Judge Dreams” again sounds Utopian to me so the question that goes to my mind is obvious.
Q: Is Sally in trouble for her Utopian stance on politics? [Likely] Critical No.
So… I guess Sally gets a very warm welcome at the Utopian Party… at least right now.

Scene 5 Resolution
I decide to go by an open scene (“no dice needed”). And how it is how it goes:
Our newboys heroes are not admitted in the Altamerican Hotel, yet they are able to befriend Thomas who volunteers to slip a note to the “victim” of the first scene.
A few minutes later Thomas return with a note slip and three museum tickets:
“Meet me. Benjamin Franklin Memorial Museum. Today 5 P.M. Mr. A.B.”
“That’s 5 in the evening,” Thomas explained, and then added “Hope you keep smart.”
Thread Closed: Gain Admission in the Altamerican
New Thread: Meet Mr A.B. at BFM Museum.

Solo RPG News: Mythic PocketMod
One of the friendly guys at the Mythic Roleplaying group is providing the world with an excelent pocketmod with a good working summary of Mythic tables.
A great addition for playing anywhere.
Mortal Coil page at Galileo Games.
“Mortal Coil is a supernatural role-playing game. It begins when all of the players create a unique world of fantasy together, with magic powerful or subtle depending on the group’s desires. You create characters to explore this world, their magic and passion shaping the stories which spring forth from your mind.”
Introducing Mortal Coil.
Mortal Coil is a “dream indie game” that condenses the trends within indie roleplaying: narrative and collaborative games.
Here’s my challenge: to adapt it to a solo game. I will be starting a new campaing with it shortly (befor August the 16th, I promise).
